Location: Toronto (Downtown)
Job type: 8 Month Contract – [with opportunity for Full-Time]

POSITION OVERVIEW

Infinitum Recruiting on behalf of our client is seeking an Application Support Specialist to help support the IT Department which deploys and manages many business applications supporting a wide range of business functions for its user base. As an Application Support Specialist, the individual would be responsible for managing & supporting these business applications on an ongoing basis. This includes managing incidents and support, fielding application questions, assisting with testing and deployment activities, system roadmap and release activities and assist IT in being able to identify potential issues pertaining to user, data, security or infrastructure that may be needed to support an IT business applications landscape which is relevant, effective and best in class.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the business liaison for business applications for IT
  • Act as the subject matter expert to resolve application specific support issues for business users
  • Manage vendor support and relationships for the business application
  • Identify and communicate requirements for enhancements or requests
  • Plan and support deployment activities for business applications
  • Create, plan, manage and execute QA and UAT testing activities to support business applications
  • Map business system processes and workflows
  • Generate effective presentations and lead discussion with business application stakeholders
  • Manage functional and product-oriented lifecycles including technical roadmaps
  • Managing group workshops that gain insights into how solutions will drive benefits
  • Guide through discussions and inclusive forums information gathering that will enlighten and inform how technology can deliver solutions that have long lasting business benefit.
  • Develop Business Requirements, Use Cases, User Stories that illustrate business needs for technical solutions
  • Manage risks and assumptions related to business applications
  • Drive high performance through delivering on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of the business
  • Work with systems such as Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle Micros POS, Oracle Hospitality Simphony Cloud, SharePoint, CRM Solutions (Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Salesforce), Archtics, WideOrbit, Adobe Sign, iManage, and TIBCO in order to manage and deliver requests to the desired quality

    REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or working towards) preferably in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or Commerce
  • Experience supporting business applications in a fast paced and complex environment
  • Experience in project delivery, performing QA/UAT activities not essential but beneficial
  • Experience with SQL databases an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Prior experience of 3-5 years on above mentioned applications
